Studio Residencies
Mentoring Emerging Artists
Dillsboro Arts is seeking three emerging artists to serve as Artists-in-Residence in one-year residencies. These artists will be provided studios to pursue their work and prepare for an exhibition at the end of the residency. Each artist will receive a $6000 stipend for their year in the Dillsboro Arts studios. They will also have opportunities to earn money through teaching workshops and leading community arts activities.
With continuing mentorship from established artists, our residents will develop their studio work, learn curating skills and, most importantly, add their voices and energy to an already strong arts community. The 2026-27 Dillsboro Arts Studio Residencies are the beginning of a vibrant, self sustaining residency program.
The Studio Residents will help Dillsboro Arts expand our hours of operation, add new patron contacts and greatly increase community participation in our arts programs as volunteer docents and leading community arts activities.

Our motto exemplifies our mission of sharing - with artists, and with our community. Dillsboro Arts was established in 2017 to foster an arts community in Dillsboro and SE Indiana by nurturing local artists of all levels and presenting outstanding talent to entertain, enlighten and educate our community.
Since 2017, we have hosted 45 exhibitions of Visual Art (6 per year) in our Friendship Gallery, 30 concerts, 14 workshops, and next June will be our 7th annual Jazz Festival in collaboration with the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra on The Porch, our outdoor music venue.
Our Tuesdays at Arts program consists of a Writing Group, Music Circle, Drawing Studio and Artist Lounge, each meeting monthly. We have converted our building from a chopped up office space into a first-class gallery with a large reception/workshop area, kitchen, ADA-compliant restroom, an outdoor stage and mural signage.
We have a large social media following which visually documents our shows and events, attracting artists and arts enthusiasts in an ever expanding regional circle.
Our vision is for Dillsboro Arts and our community to become an arts destination with gallery events, studio tours and unique activities available to both our local patrons and beyond.
